Dial-Up Usage Policy

We have all experienced it at one time or another: a busy signal when you try to dial in to the internet. Getting a busy signal is annoying. At SECOM, a premium service provider, our goal is to keep you from getting busy signals. One way we help combat the busy signal problem is by stopping the few individuals who want to make a connection and keep it permanently connected. This ties up a modem -- one that others could be dialing into.

There have been a number of "low price, unlimited access" providers in the market. Many of these have now gone out of business, including some which had dialup access from La Junta!

Our policy is as follows for Standard Dial-Up and Unlimited Dial-Up accounts:

You may use your connection as much as you want! There are some months you may need to be on for extended hours -- we understand that. We will not charge you excess fees beyond whatever is specified by your account. However, if you repeatedly go over the amounts listed below, you will be contacted and be subject to changing the terms of your account.

• Standard dial-up: 200 hours/month
• Unlimited dial-up: 300 hours/month

Our goal is to be up front with you about how you can use the system, and that is why we give you specific numbers to go by. In contrast, other ISPs offer "Unlimited" service but reserve the right to change you to a dedicated account when you hit an unspecified usage amount.
